This is my story
My Mother, My Life (78,164 words, 258 pages) is a testimony of miracles. Intended to be my mother's biography the story became my memoire written in the third person. Beginning with the miracle of my birth when the faith of my parents brought me into the world, this book became my parents' legacy of faith, love, and family passed on to me and then to my sons. It is written somewhat on the style of The Love Series by Janett Oke.
This is my first attempt to publish my writings, which I have been doing since I was around the age of twelve, writing with and on anything I could find. My writings became a book around 1987, and since then I have been rewriting the same manuscript over the years. This book was meant only to instruct my sons and grandsons. However, after these many years, my two boys, and everyone who has read the manuscript agreed that it needed to be shared. I also worked tirelessly with my husband, for twenty-seven years on his Singing to the Lions, a Vietnam War novel by Robert A. Gisclair published in 2013 by Margaret Media Inc., and at present can be found on amazon.com.
I was born in a small town in the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil in 1955, graduated from the College of Tourism Morumbi, São Paulo in 1979, and moved to Louisiana, USA in 1986. I became a certified Spanish teacher from Nicholls State University in 2006, a New Orleans certified trilingual tour guide from Delgado Community College in 2016, and a Translator Professional from Global Translation Institute in 2018. At present I am retired and a teacher volunteer.
My memoire could be classified as a nonfiction Christian Catholic book, and an inspirational book. As I described the events of my life during my thirty years in Brazil and the thirty years living in the United States, I wanted to be an inspiration to all – teenagers and adults around the world. No matter which country we are born in, nor which conditions we see ourselves living in, there is always hope.
